#1

Front

Define a Knowledge Question (KQ)

An open, general question about knowledge itself, rather than a specific subject-specific problem. It connects to Areas of Knowledge (AOKs) and Ways of Knowing (WOKs).

#2

Front

First-order vs. Second-order knowledge claims

Back

First-order claims are claims made *within* an area of knowledge (e.g., 'Water boils at 100°C'). Second-order claims are claims *about* knowledge (e.g., 'Scientific models change over time'), which are the focus of TOK.

#3

Front

Scope of Knowledge

Back

Refers to the range or boundaries of knowledge in a particular field or area of knowledge. It asks what is included and excluded within that field.

#4

Front

Perspective in TOK

Back

The point of view from which knowledge is constructed. It considers how factors like culture, gender, and era influence what we know and how we know it.

#5

Back
