Provider and agreement
Hylē is provided by REFRESH Co., Ltd., a company in the Republic of Korea. Our representative and CEO is Junhoo Choi. Contact us at hyle@refresh.ai.kr.
These terms take effect on 8 October 2026. By creating an account or using Hylē, you agree to these terms. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information; the Refund Policy forms part of the purchase terms.
What the service provides
We sell prepaid credit packs for hosted research software (SaaS), including literature review and limited CPU analysis workflows. Hylē starts with papers and data you upload and provides an evidence-attached second opinion: structured claims, cited results, statistical checks, and research receipts. Reports are in English. External literature and public data support the review of your uploaded material.
Hylē does not sell papers or ghostwritten academic work, courses, physical goods, or custom consulting. It does not provide personalized professional recommendations.
Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 14 years old and legally able to enter this agreement, with a parent or guardian’s consent where required by law. Under-14 sign-ups are not allowed. Keep your account information accurate and protect your login credentials. Tell us promptly about unauthorized access.
If you use Hylē for a university, laboratory, or other institution, you must have authority to accept these terms for that institution and permission to submit its material. Authorized research-group members may work in shared projects; this does not make their uploads public.
Credit packs and report depth
Prepaid pack prices and credits are shown on the Pricing page. Prices may change before launch. Quick, Standard, and Deep are report depths, separate from pack names. Each report uses the credits shown for its depth before you start.
Credit packs are prepaid purchases with no recurring charges. Credit expiry and any additional purchase terms must be configured and disclosed before purchase. This preview grants no spendable credits. Usage credits represent a software-usage license, not money or an investment.

Payments and taxes
Checkout opens after Lemon Squeezy approval. Once approved and activated, Lemon Squeezy acts as merchant of record for international purchases and handles payment, receipts, and applicable taxes at checkout. Toss Payments processes Korean payments when activated. PayPal may be available through the applicable payment flow. Availability and the final total are shown before you pay; listing a provider here does not mean checkout is live.
International prices are in US dollars; applicable taxes are calculated and shown at checkout by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Korean prices are shown separately in won through Toss Payments, with VAT included. The Pricing page states the exchange-rate date; rates are updated periodically. The payment provider’s buyer terms apply to the payment transaction; these terms govern your use of Hylē.
Purchases and price changes
Each top-up is a separate purchase. There are no automatic renewal charges to cancel. See the Refund Policy for unused first purchases, used credits, and restoration after technical failures.
We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the app before a paid credit-pack price increase takes effect. A change applies to a future purchase, not credits already purchased. Prices may change before launch.
Your content and uploads
You keep ownership of your uploaded papers, text, CSV files, questions, and other original content. You give us only the permission needed to store and process it and deliver your requested workflow. You warrant that you have the necessary rights, licenses, and permissions, including institutional permission and a lawful basis for any personal information you submit.
Uploads are private, owner-scoped, and deletable. They are not put in a shared public cache. Hylē does not use uploads to train models. Authorized sharing within your research group follows the permissions you choose.
Requested inputs may be sent to DeepSeek for generation in China. We cannot guarantee that DeepSeek excludes API inputs from its own training or deletes them on Hylē’s schedule. The Privacy Policy explains this boundary. Marking a manuscript “unpublished” removes its content from external search queries; it does not stop DeepSeek processing. Review the processing consent at sign-up and in Settings.
Acceptable use
Use Hylē lawfully and in accordance with your institution’s research ethics. Do not upload material you have no right to use, steal another user’s data, bypass account isolation or usage controls, disrupt the service, introduce malicious code, or present automated output as independently verified research.
Do not submit patient-identifying health records, identifiable genomic data, or other sensitive personal information without a separately agreed and lawful processing arrangement. Do not use the service to obtain personalized medical, legal, or investment decisions.
AI output, verdicts, and receipts
Hylē uses AI and computational checks to assist research. Claim verdicts are supported, not supported, already known, or insufficient evidence. Receipts record inputs and computation details such as code and data hashes; they help you inspect and reproduce a calculation. A receipt is not a guarantee that a paper, model, or conclusion is correct.
Results can contain errors, omit relevant research, or become outdated. We disclose unread material and limitations where relevant. Check citations, source dates, statistical assumptions, and scientific assertions before relying on output. You remain responsible for your research and applicable institutional and regulatory requirements.
Hyle reports evidence with sources and dates. Review the limits in each report.
Intellectual property and literature rights
Hylē’s software, branding, and original service materials belong to their respective owners. Your credit purchase grants usage access to the service; it does not transfer ownership of the software. You retain rights in your original work, subject to third-party rights and the law applicable to AI-generated material.
Only public papers under CC BY, CC0, or public-domain terms are eligible for our shared literature cache, with license evidence, attribution, and dates. For non-commercial, no-derivatives, paid, or unclear-license external material, we retain bibliographic information and facts in our own words rather than a shared full-text copy. Your private uploads remain outside that cache.
Suspension and termination
We may limit or suspend access for a material breach, unlawful use, security risk, or unpaid purchase. Where practicable, we explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve it; an urgent security or legal issue may require immediate action. We will not use suspension to remove mandatory refund or privacy rights.
You may stop using Hylē and request account deletion. We handle deletion and legally required record retention as described in the Privacy Policy. If we permanently discontinue paid service, we will address unused paid access and applicable refunds under law.
Service limits and liability
We use reasonable care in providing the service but cannot promise uninterrupted availability or error-free AI output. Research results are assistive and must be evaluated in context. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the agreement was made.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limits mandatory consumer remedies. Any limitation must remain reasonable and consistent with applicable law.
Changes to these terms
We will publish updated terms with an effective date and give at least 7 days’ notice in the app or by email. Material changes that reduce your rights or increase your obligations receive at least 30 days’ notice. You may cancel before a change applies. Changes do not retroactively alter a completed purchase or remove mandatory rights.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes are subject to the Seoul Central District Court, except where mandatory law gives you a right to another court or additional consumer protection.
